Assalamu Alaikum Respected Parents,

FNO would like to invite students in group C girls to be part of volunteering event of Produce On Wheels – With Out Waste (P.O.W.W.O.W.) hosted at ICEV on Saturday, November 25th from 8 AM-11 AM.

There will be 2 sessions for volunteering 7:00 AM- 9:00 AM or 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

 Who is invited: Girls in Sr. Naeema’s class

This is not a drop-off event. Parents are highly recommended to stay with their kids the whole time.

POWWOW disburses fresh produce to communities throughout Central and Southern Arizona.

Volunteering opportunity for kids will be as follows:

• Assisting with setup and assisting those attending with boxing, bagging and direct questions as needed.
• Standing at the tables where customers will be selecting their own produce.
• Ensuring a constant supply of the produce from the boxes.
• Handing over previously bagged produce.
• Sorting damaged produce for the compost box.
• Collapsing empty produce boxes.
• For this final task, if some kids can bring a wagon from their home to use for the event, lugging produce to the car becomes easy for customers and gives our kids a chance to show how helpful Muslim children are.

Volunteering opportunity for adults are as follows:

• Manage the tables where customers pay for their produce (need very friendly, welcoming people for this station).
• Directing traffic.
• Need strong young boys/men to help customers having trouble with their groceries to carry to their car.

Up to 60 lbs of fresh produce for a $10 donation

By donating $10, Community members may shop for up to 60 lbs of fresh nutritional rescued produce to share with family, friends, neighbors, or someone in need.
