🔎 FNO Online Classes start this Friday, March 27th

Assalamu Alaikum respected FNO parents,

The spread of COVID-19 may create some changes in the way we learn, but it does not change our desire to continue learning.

During these challenging times, we know as precautions are taken to ensure the safety of our communities, we must find new methods to keep learning on track for everyone at every level.

We are excited to offer online ZOOM classes for some of our classes (10 years and up). Please join the class by clicking the link or dialing number.

These online sessions are for currently registered FNO students only.

Please pay attention to the start time of each class as they vary depending upon the teachers’ schedules.

For group KK and group A boys and girls, an email will be sent separately with the weekly self-study guide on Thursdays. Parents are encouraged to help their children with the study guides, there will be no online meeting or live interaction with the teachers.

These weekly study guides will be sent from Teacher Afshan’s class (Group KK), Br. Abdullah Safi’s class (Group A Boys) and Teacher Deeba’s class (Group A Girls) in-sha Allah.

We wish you all the best. Please stay safe, keep social distancing to avoid spreading COVID-19 and follow the guidelines provided by CDC.

🔎 Spring Break is Here! **NO FNO on March 13th** Closed Until Further Notice.

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah:

Dear FNO Parents,

ICEV FNO youth halaqa will be having a spring break and not be in session on Friday March 13th, 2020.

In shaa Allah, FNO youth halaqa will be closed until further notice as instructed by the ICEV Board of Directors for precaution against coronavirus. Stay tuned for more information.

At FNO, we continue to closely monitor the coronavirus outbreaks. Kids health and safety is our priority.

We will continue to refer to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization and other public health agencies to determine the safest course of action for FNO Kids.

You may have already heard about  Taking the steps to protect yourself and others but here they are again as a reminder:

Clean your hands often

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

Avoid close contact

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Put distance between yourself and other people if COVID-19 is spreading in your community.

Stay home if you’re sick

Stay home if you are sick, except to get medical care.

Cover coughs and sneezes

  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze or use the inside of your elbow.
  • Throw used tissues in the trash.
  • Immediately wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not readily available, clean your hands with a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.

Wear a face mask if you are sick

  • If you are sick:  You should wear a face mask when you are around other people (e.g., sharing a room or vehicle) and before you enter a healthcare provider’s office. If you are not able to wear a face mask (for example, because it causes trouble breathing), then you should do your best to cover your coughs and sneezes, and people who are caring for you should wear a face mask if they enter your room.
  • If you are NOT sick: You do not need to wear a face mask unless you are caring for someone who is sick (and they are not able to wear a face mask). Face masks may be in short supply and they should be saved for caregivers.

Clean and disinfect

  • Clean AND disinfect daily. This includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, and sinks.
  • If surfaces are dirty, clean them: Use detergent or soap and water prior to disinfection.

Sincerely,
